Moama Lights is an immersive sound and light trail that showcases stories from across the region through state-of-the-art installations, projections and cutting edge moving-light technology.

Following the artistic triumph of the inaugural Moama Lights in 2021 and 2022, this popular event – winner of a National Economic Development Award – lights up Moama’s Horseshoe Lagoon again in 2023.

The clear winter evenings will be transformed by beautiful light displays, an enticing new show, brand new stories and a new backdrop along the upgraded footbridges at Horseshoe Lagoon. Explore in your own time, walking the path towards the historic Moama Wharf surrounded by towering river redgums, and soaking in the dusk sounds of this natural riverine lagoon.

As the sun sets and the sky turns from blue to pink, then indigo to starlit black, the entire area is transformed. Horseshoe Lagoon’s flat, accessible boardwalks and paths become the site of something magical. With a brand new installation this year featuring fleeting images, light mosaics, jaw-dropping effects and evocative story-telling combine here in a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
