Echuca Moama is bliss for those who like to be active. The twin towns are home to major clubs with world class sporting facilities, not to mention Australia's most famous river - The mighty Murray. Whether you want to go golfing, bowling, fishing, canoeing bush walking or water-skiing, Echuca Moama caters for all sport and leisure interests.



Australia is blessed with an array of bird life, and the river red cum forests of Murray Valley National and Regional parks are no exception. Towering majestically over a network of waterways, these river red gums stretch for over 100,000 hectares making tit the world's largest continuous region of river red gum forest and home to a stunning variety of birds.

Murray Valley National and Regional Parks are ideal places to get up and close with the amazing birdlife whether it's in the skies, the trees or wetlands at the River Bed Bird Hide (Mathoura) - where birdwatching is at its best. Bush Walking

Often the best way to explore a region is on foot. Echuca Moama provides an endless choice of walking tracks. Stroll along riverside bush tracks or through State Parks. Designated tracks cater for all levels of fitness from beginners to advanced, with varied distances. Why not pack a picnic? Rich River Golf Croquet Club has over 60 members and are always pleased to welcome visitors.

Three kinds of Croquet are played:

- Association Croquet played Wednesday and Saturday 
- Golf Croquet played Tuesday and Thursday 
- Kingball played once a month

Rich River Golf Club Resort has 4 'A' Grade courts, and another that can be prepared for special events. The Club is located behind the Bowling Club adjacent to the practice fairway.

If you love your fishing the best experiences are to be had downstream towards Torrumbarry where the river is wide and deep, or upstream at the Barmah and Moira Forest where the river narrows. With any luck Murray Cod, Yellow Belly, Bream or Redfin will be on the menu tonight.

If it's fitness you seek you can now maintain your exercise routine whilst on holidays in Echuca Moama! There are circuit classes, weights, cardio room and state of the art equipment and professionally run classes for all levels of fitness from beginners to advanced at the Moama Sports Club and YMCA.



If it is golf that you love then Echuca Moama boasts a variety of top golfing options. Rich River Golf Club Resort is home to two award winning championship 18 hole golf courses. The par 72 East Course was redesigned by Peter Thompson in 1998. For recreational golfers there is plenty of assistance from the golf professionals and fully equiped pro shop. For those seeking a more relaxed experience then consider the Echuca Back 9, Echuca's public golf course. The course has been designed to challenge the season golfer and also provides an accessible flat course for those just wishing to have a fun and relaxed round of golf. Home of the Victorian Par 3 Amateur Championships is Kyabram Parkland Golf Club boasting superb grass greens, challenging fairways. This is an ideal course for all ages and visitors are very welcome.


Lawn Bowls

If you want to be bowled over by Echuca Moama's excellent bowling facilities then come and visit the following facilities: Moama Bowling Club reguarly hosts World Bowls Championships and Master's Games. With International-standard Tiftdwarf greens, this Club is regarded as one of the premier Bowling Clubs of Australia. MBC also boasts first class hospitality facilities. Rich River Bowls Club has three Tiftdwarf bowling greens that are playable all year round. Rich River caters for visitors at all times be thay singles persons or groups. Rich River has a number of events throughout the seasons commencing with our Spring event in the first week of September. RR has a wide choice of hospitality facilities and accommodation choices available.



The complex at Rich River Golf Club Resort boasts nine floodlit synthetic grass tennis courts. Racquet and ball hire as well as professional tennis coaching is available. The Club continues its emphasis on developing junior tennis both from a competition and coaching point of view. Each Saturday morning a junior competition is held to develop the children's playing skills. The competition is open to all junior players of any age or standard. Saturday mornings also incorporates coaching for beginners. Group lessons are the format with emphasis on developing their raw skills and talent!And for those a 'little' older and more experienced, night competition is run both Monday and Wednesday evenings. Monday night is a mixed team competition consisting of 3 women and 3 men. The competition is run each school term and commences at 7pm. Wednesday night competition is a men?s teams format, consisting of 4 men. This competition is run in terms 2 & 3 through the winter and commences at 7.30pm. Form your own teams or enter your own name to be placed in a team. It's good fun and a great way to beat off the winter chills!

Ladies social tennis is played every Wednesday morning from 9:30am. Just come along and put your name down.

Tennis coaching lessons are available all year round with qualified coach Andrew Crossman from Crossies Tennis Coaching. Children from around the age of 5 can start to learn tennis with Andrew by participating in group tennis coaching run four nights a week during the school terms. Private lessons are also available by arrangement.

Water Skiing

If water skiing gets your blood pumping, then Echuca Moama is the ideal water ski location.Water skiers can enjoy calm waters and excellent river conditions in this section of the Murray. Boat ramps are available in many locations. Echuca Moama also offers professional wakeboarding, waterskiing, kneeboarding, barefooting and tubing activities from beginer to advanced lessons. The region also boasts fully stocked water sports retail outlets. Echuca Moama hosts the biggest water ski race in the World the 'Southern 80' held in Febuary each year.
