Moama Lights 2022 - Echuca Moama Tourism

Media Release - 2pm 6 July 2023

Murray River Council has had to make the unfortunate decision to cancel the Moama Lights component of the Moama Lights festival, effective Thursday 6 July 2023.

Due to the rising water levels in Horseshoe Lagoon the compound where the lights and sounds are generated from will likely be hit with water in the coming days.

This means the equipment will need to be moved off site which will unfortunately put an end to the show.

All ticket holders for the lights event will be fully refunded the value of their ticket/s, however we are asking people to be patient as the ticket agency works through this over the coming week.

Ticket holders will be contacted via email to notify them of the cancellation and provide instructions on how to request a refund.

Whilst the lights component of the event is cancelled, the rest of the festival will continue through to July 23.

Locals and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the outdoor ice-skating rink, the American Hotel beer garden, food trucks and roving entertainment all set up in the Kerrabee Soundshell area.

If you’re visiting the area you can also visit the clubs, restaurants, attractions and explore our local shops.

“Council is disappointed that the spectacular sound and light show has had to come to an early end and apologises to those who were looking forward to an upcoming show.”

“We hope everyone will still enjoy the rest of the Moama Lights Festival over the next 2 weeks,” Mayor Chris Bilkey said.
