Echuca Moama Artists – Eyes Wide Open Exhibition

An exhibition inspired by the idea that there is Art all around us, if only we have eyes to see it. Ten artists from Deniliquin’s newest Art Group ‘Art Life’ are exhibiting approximately 60 of their works ranging from photography, traditional landscapes, flora and fauna studies and still life to modern explosions of colour with experimental materials.

Kyabram Town Hall - Touch of International Exhibition

An exhibition showcasing a selection of clothing from around the world. Entry is $8 and $6 for concession. Also on show is Sharing Stories, an exhibition of words, images and ephemera by Goulburn Valley Writers Group and Fab Fakes.

Exhibition – A Century of Pioneer Women Echuca and District

Echuca Historical Society presents this exhibition featuring stories of the women who worked side by side with their menfolk, took over the business when tragedy struck or just got on with helping others. Open 11.00am – 3.00pm every day, Dickson Street Echuca.

The foundry Arts Space – Obsessions

An exhibition by Elly Wegener and John Stevens. Open daily 10.00am – 4.00pm

Makers Market at Echuca Moama Uniting Church

Echuca Moama Uniting Church will hold their Makers Market this Saturday 8 June. There will be 10 x stalls, all different, including a cakes and secondhand books.

EVENTS

Echuca Moama Steam Rally – 8 & 9 June

One of our region’s longest running events, the 2019 Steam Rally Echuca Moama celebrates its 56th anniversary and will showcase more than 500 working exhibits of yesteryear to entertain the whole family. Whilst preserving the historical nature of the event, a number of new and exciting attractions will be on display including vintage machinery and transport, working horses, old time farming trades, vintage cars and steam engines valued at over $500,000.

A variety of family friendly entertainment will be available including animal nursey and pony rides.

The event is proudly run by the Rotary Club of Echuca Moama with proceeds going to support local community organisations and future events.

Rotary Park - 1-7 Rose St Echuca. 9:00am – 4.30pm.

Shuttle buses will run hourly from Echuca Moama Visitor Centre, Echuca Railway Station and Bridge Hotel.

Big Freeze Echuca Moama – Monday 10 June

A family friendly event that will see local personalities take the plunge into a giant pool of icy water to raise funds to fight MND. The slider who raises the most money will be titled King or Queen of Echuca Moama Big Freeze. Entertainment for all ages and football clinic.

26 cellar doors, craft breweries, food and special events all weekend across the Heathcote region, the southern gateway to Echuca Moama.

The evening marks the official launch of their new 2018 Spanish-style wines: Tempranillo, Grenache & blends. Each new style has been barrel-aged in small batches, the results of which are delicious and true to style. A glass of one of the new releases is included in your ticket.
Award-winning chefs, Simply Spanish, will provide dinner for the evening and Dan Kelly will provide entertainment with an intimate performance. Tickets: $60pp

HISTORY & HERITAGE

Northern Steam Explorer 707 Operations will depart Melbourne on Friday 7 June and return on Monday 10 June.   It will travel to Echuca, Deniliquin, Swan Hill and Piangil over some freight only tracks that rarely see Passenger trains. The train will be hauled by North British Locomotive Company built 4-6-4 Hudson type coal burning steam locomotive. Departing Echuca 9.45am Saturday morning and returning at 5.00pm. Don’t miss it passing through.

Morris Minors Owners Club Show and Shine – Saturday 8 June

The Morris Minors Owners Club will be in Murray Esplanade for their Show ‘n’ Shine at Murray Esplanade, 9.30am – 2.30pm.

SPORT

Victorian Par 3 Amateur Championships – Men’s event – 8 & 9 June

This event will be held at Kyabram Parkland Golf Club. A 36 hole stroke format with a GA handicap limit of 27.4 at date of entry. Entry fee for Men’s event is $75 including a light lunch on both days.

Echuca Moama Parkrun – Saturday 8 June

GVFL Football and Netball – Saturday 8 June

Football and Netball returns to Victoria Park Oval this Saturday when Echuca takes on Euroa in round 9. Under 15 netball commences at 9.15am and the Under 18 footballers from 10.00am. Come along and watch former Carlton AFL star, Andrew Walker and Freemantle Dockers player – Peter Faulks show their skills for the Echuca Moama Bombers.

Murray League Football and Netball – Saturday 8 June

Football and Netball returns to Echuca United when they take on the Moama Magpies. Under 11 netball commences at 10.00am and the Under 14s from 9.15am.

SPECIAL – WHAT’S ON IN THE PORT OF ECHUCA

Port of Echuca Healthy Kids Cooking Classes – Sunday 9 June and Monday 10 June

FREE kids cooking classes will be held at Echuca Wharf this long weekend as part of Campaspe Shire’s Port of Echuca Activity Grants Program. The healthy cooking sessions will teach children and parents that seasonal, sustainable eating can be easy and fun. Children will play a senses guessing game with seasonal and local ingredients and learn to make two colourful recipes ~ salad on a stick with beetroot tzatziki and a traffic light fruit crumble. Classes are 45 minutes long and run on the hour every hour from 10.00am-3.00pm.
