Distillery

Craft Distillery To Open Doors in Echuca CBD.

Psssst….Have you heard the BIG news?

There’s a new tourist attraction coming to the heart of Echuca Moama (EM) - and it’s got the whole town buzzing.

That’s right - EM is getting its very own ‘craft distillery’.

We’re talking gin, flavoured vodkas and liqueurs! There’ll be a bar and cafe, distillation demonstrations, product tastings and so much more.

Echuca Distillery & Cafe is the bold vision of owners David and Fiona De Vries who ‘retired’ to Echuca from Melbourne in 2012.

Work has already commenced on this fantastic new tourist offering, with demolition and clearing works underway at 555 High Street in the Port of Echuca (the old Morley Ford site) where the distillery will take pride of place.

The distillery will be sympathetic to the historic architecture of the existing buildings in the precinct, and will mark an exciting new era for tourism.

It will inject colour and vibrancy to an already full suite of attractions in the heart of EM that fill the bucket, tantalise the taste buds, expand the mind and replenish the soul.

Echuca Distillery & Café will be offering the demonstrative aspect of spirit production in a beautiful handcrafted Copper Italian Still, showcasing the wonderful botanicals used in gin. It will also offer great café food in a relaxed space where booze is served for enjoyment and responsible drinking is encouraged.

Building works are expected to begin soon, and are set for completion by Christmas this year. The De Vries hope to have their exciting venture operating early in 2019.

If you haven’t visited our historic CBD recently, do yourself a favour.

It’s a place where you can ‘touch’ the mighty Murray, cruise the waters by paddlesteamer, immerse yourself in history at the Port of Echuca Discovery Centre and historic wharf, unwind in the beautifully revamped Hopwood Gardens playspace, get your science fix at Twisted, take a tour of the National Holden Motor Museum, visit the Foundry Art Space, picnic or bbq in the Aquatic Reserve, see a flick at Paramount movie theatre, and get lost in our historic streets which are home to an eclectic range of boutique shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and wine bars.

Come play with us soon.
