Attractions

Description

Named after the riverbed resembling Cape Horn on the tip of South America. Cape Horn Vineyard is located on a sand hill wedged between the Murray and Goulburn Rivers and just 15 minutes drive from Echuca. Just a short drive along a 8 km of sealed road and 6 km of gravel road that leads to a stunning, secluded and peaceful setting with wide water frontage and vineyard surrounds.

The Vineyard was first planted to Shiraz grapes in the 1800's serving the thriving River Boat trade. Being half way between Echuca and Barmah, Cape Horn was a convenient stopping spot for the river boats. The vineyard and winery evolved as a consequence. Cape Horn was also a popular picnic spot for day trippers from Echuca in the 1900's.

The Vineyard has been re-established, with the planting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Durif, Marsanne and Zinfandel vines.

Only 15kms from Echuca, and accessible by car or boat, you will be rewarded with a delightful experience tasting our award winning wines at cellar door. The grounds are perfect for enjoying your picnic lunch and barbeques are available. A giant chess board, boule or croquet are available for your use.

Wood Fired Pizza's are available ALL Weekends and during School Holidays or by prior arrangement. Cheese Platters and coffee also available.
