Overview

Description

Situated on a bend in the Murray Valley Hwy, a short 20 minute drive from Echuca, this unassuming hotel stands in the small Victorian town of Gunbower. Owned and operated by farmer, butcher and publican, Richard McGillivray, the Gunbower Hotel represents a piece of history and a family tradition. The Gunbower Hotel opened in 1941, boasting it was a “Paradise For Sportsmen” offering hare, rabbit, duck (in season) shooting, cod and perch fishing all within 3 minutes of the door! These days you can enjoy one of the best pub meals in Victoria without having to leave the pub. The Gunbower Hotel is well known for its superb aged, locally grown beef (most of which comes from Richard's own property) and great traditional pub food. If you’re looking for great pub atmosphere, fantastic food and a great selection of beer and wine then The Gunbower Hotel is well worth the drive!
