Echuca-Moama Supports Blaze Aid
Christmas will come early this year for a group of Flowerdale residents when they receive a free getaway in Echuca-Moama.
Families affected by February's Black Saturday Bushfires will visit Echuca-Moama on November 27-29, as guests of Echuca-Moama and District Tourism & District (EMDT).
The group of 65 families and couples will be looked after by members of the Echuca-Moama Accommodation Association, with district restaurants, cafes, wineries and producers providing free lunches and dinners.
They will also get the chance to explore many of the attractions which Echuca-Moama has to offer.
A welcome barbecue on the historic wharf at the Port of Echuca, sponsored by Campaspe Shire, will be held on Saturday, November 28, with country and western performer Keith Davies entertaining guests.
The weekend getaway is the result of talks between Department of Human Services, Blaze Aid, EMDT and Moama on Murray Resort, with Echuca-Moama keen to show those affected by the bushfires it has not forgot about them and their suffering.
