Sydney Melbourne Touring Route

Sydney Melbourne Touring Route Marketing Campaign has been created to promote select tourism destinations and their respective product and attractions to international markets.
SMT is funded by participating regional tourism authorities, Tourism Victoria and Tourism NSW.
 
EMT has recently committed funding to this campaign as a component of the new marketing plan.
 
The SMT campaign will see Echuca Moama represented in the following markets:
 
*Europe
*UK
*North America
*New Zealand
*ATE Adelaide
*General domestic opportunities
 
To assist EMT Members to understand exactly what SMT is and the many unique and exciting marketing opportunities that now come with this partnership we have now arranged for their CEO and Marketing team to hold a seminar in Echuca Moama .
 
This seminar is available to EMT Members only and the seminar details are as follows:
 
Moama Bowling Club
Wednesday 18th November 2009
2.30-4.30pm
Afternoon tea will be provided
Cost: $Free to all EMT Members

If you have any interest in becoming involved in this $500,000.00 marketing campaign and have any interest in exploring international markets (in particular New Zealand and greater domestic) you really need to attend this seminar!

Attractions Expo

The Echuca-Moama & District Attractions Association will be holding an Expo.

The purpose of this event is to highlight the regions many attractions to give you a better understanding of the many great things your guests can do during their visit.
Send your front desk staff as well, as it is a great opportunity for them to catch up and brush up on available product all under one roof in time for the Christmas break!

The expo will take place as follows:
6pm - 8pm- Shire of Campaspe Function Room
18th November 2009

Food & Wine Group

The next Food & Wine Group Meeting will be held this Wednesday 18th November at the Echuca Workers & Services Club at 9.30am.
The meetings focus will be around the 2010 Riverboats Jazz Food & Wine Festival.

3.00pm depart by bus for wine tastings to the following vineyards:

Return to Echuca around 9-9.30pm

COST: $5 per person for the bus

SEN Sports Radio, Melbourne

We had a 20 minute interview on their Destinations program last Friday where we discussed all the good stuff that is Echuca Moama.

The old web site has now gone the way of the Tasmanian Tiger and we now have a brand new site at www.echucamoama.com

This site will be continually evolving and changing so every now and then drop in for a visit and check out the changes and innovations as this exciting new site develops.

Events Postion

The advertising for applicants has now closed! We have received 35 responses and the interview process will commence next week. The committee is hopeful that the position can be filled and commenced prior to Christmas. This is a big and exciting step forward for us all.

Echuca Moama Food,Wine & Produce Development Group News

Been involved in developing the food and wine elements for the River Boat Jazz Food and Wine Festival
Have taken a big space on the soon to be released Melbourne Food & Wine Festival 2010 website.

• Appointed an organizing committee for the Autumn Harvest Festival
• Committed to a full page advertisement in the AGE Epicure section
• Attended the Echuca Moama food,wine & produce display at the Crown Casion
• Whats On Magazine food and wine section supplement

Next meeting-18th November, 9.30 at the Workers Club-all interested parties are welcome!

Television Campaign

Has well and truly commenced programming on channels WIN, Prime and TEN. The campaign will continue to run through until the end of November and will be complimented by a metro print advertising hit in mid-late November.

Offical Visitors Guide

The current official visitors guide is nearly out of stock so we will be creating a brand new version and we can guarantee you that it will be a very different ‘’animal’ from previous versions.

Think larger and more of a coffee table type magazine using big images and less text.

There will naturally be lot’s of opportunities for advertisments as well.

Melbourne Food & Wine Festival Regional Events Conference

EMT attended this function and in fact was a guest speaker.
This involvement indicates that we as a region are starting to have people sit up and take notice and it’s great that we are now out, about and in to it!

Air Access

Moving along quite well, the proposal is before the Victorian Government Minister and we are awaiting (patiently as you can emagine!) a response. Hopefully some good news soon so stay tuned.

Sydney Melbourne Touring Route Marketing Campaign

As you are aware from previous newsletters EMT is now a commercial partner in this marketing campaign.

To assist EMT members in gaining a better understanding of SMT and the opportunities that will be rolled out to members going forward SMT will be visiting us to hold an ‘’introduction to SMT’’ seminar.

The venue is to be finalized however the date is as follows:

2.30pm – 4.30pm Wednesday 18th November 2009.

This will be a very worthwhile exercise and I strongly encourage all interested EMT members to attend.
Attendance is free of charge and afternoon tea will be provided.

Next week we will email you an official invitation inclusive of rsvp details.

VicSuper Murray Marathon

The VicSuper Murray Marathon is a significant tourism event for the Murray Region brining at least $200,000 to the ecomony in local townships each night, therefore contributing over $1 million dollars to the ecompy in the region annual.
