Sky link dream

The bid for air access for Echuca-
Moama and district will continue next month when key
stakeholders meet to decide if a feasibility study should be
completed.
Representatives from the Victorian Government, Tourism
Victoria, Echuca-Moama and District Tourism (EMT),
Deniliquin Council and Campaspe, Murray and Conargo
shires, as well as Member for Rodney Paul Weller will meet
in Echuca on December 3 to discuss the proposal.
EMT marketing manager Simon Latchford said a feasibility study was critical to the proposal moving forward.
The bid to bring air access to Echuca-Moama and district began in September, with Tourism Victoria then
agreeing to back EMT's proposal.
EMT is hoping to create an air service between Mildura, Albury-Wodonga and either Echuca-Moama or
Deniliquin, with the suitability of both airports still to be investigated.
The service would connect to existing services provided by Qantas Link, Virgin Blue and Rex Airlines in Albury-
Wodonga and Mildura.
From there, other services would then provide the district access to northern and southern domestic and
international markets, connecting to Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane.
``We want to join the dots in the links,'' Mr Latchford said.
