EMT Flood Campaign Update
The Melbourne metro radio campaign on 3AW, Fox and Magic has now ended. The campaign was titled ‘’Echuca Moama Is Open For Business’’. To the best of our knowledge our region was the only Murray region out in the market so hopefully this will count for something. We have been advised that the Victorian Government will shortly be making an announcement regarding a state wide $1M marketing campaign to further assist and underpin EMT’s $12,000.00 campaign (It is a lot to us!) In particular we are hopeful the campaign will also provide some media grunt for Riverboat Jazz Food & Wine and Southern 80 events.
Air Access
This long term project continues to move forward with the decision now having been made to progress from the feasibility study to the business study stage. You will have received a questionnaire recently seeking information from you regarding proposed commercial air services. This is an important component of the next stage as it will provide us with an indication of commitment from the region. It is very important you take a minute to fill it out and return it please.
Flood Recovery Campaign Update
We anticipate that next week there will be an announcement regarding an excellent Victorian Government initiative to launch a tourism recovery strategy. We will keep you informed as to progress. This initiative will allow us to continue and develop our self generated ‘’Echuca Moama Is Open For Business’’ campaign.
Murray Board Update
The newly formed Murray Board has now appointed Mr Phil Nunn. The position will commence on the 16th February and we look forward to hearing their vision for the Murray regions.
Web Site iPhone Smart
Consumers are increasingly using their mobiles to gather information. We have just launched a mobile phone user friendly version of the www.echucamoama.com web site. This will now allow users to access the web site in a compatible easy to read and navigate format. The telephone number has been set up in a one click manner so that iPhone and other mobile device users can call our toll free number directly with one touch of their screen.
EMT has now well and truly completed its journey into the 21st century!!
Cellar Door Farm Gate Promotion
This big opportunity to showcase the regions food, wine and produce at the first weekend of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival is now completed and ready to go. This event is a first for our region and virtually thousands of people are going to experience a side to our region that many had never recognized existed. We will also be distributing the regional holiday planner guide at the festival from our stand.
River Boat Jazz Food & Wine Festival
This fantastic festival is nearly upon us with a new look, great bands and it will be a seriously fantastic weekend! Please tell your friends and family to come and enjoy this wonderful festival and show your support for the handful of organizers that make these festivals happen.
Co-operative Advertising Opportunities
We recently released advertising opportunities for the Sun Herald Escape, Age Epicure and Age Traveller sections. This is a lot exposure and we are pleased to advise that all opportunities have sold out. Thank you to all EMT Members who have supported this co-operative campaign.
I Do I Do (Bendigo Wedding Expo)
EMT has yet again partnered up with the Echuca Wedding Group for this show in Bendigo.
We are delighted with the responses we have been receiving off the back of all the effort that we have put into this sector over the past year. Requests from consumers for holiday planners and wedding guides are at an all time high.
Adelaide Caravan & Camping Show
We are off to Adelaide again to staff a stand at this important Adelaide show. We have shipped 1 ton of brochures to Adelaide as last year we ran out with one day to go. South Australia is an important market for us and as such we invest money, time and effort in representing our region in Adelaide.
Travel Xpo
EMT is attending this major consumer travel show in Melbourne on the 19th & 20th March. There are only 2 spots left if you are interested in major representation at the show. EMT are staffing the stand and will be distributing the holiday planner and answering any and all questions that consumers may have regarding our region.
EMT Staff
Please note that both Ingrid and Simon will be away at various shows and events from the 19th February returning to the office Monday 28th February. Should you require contact during that time please do not hesitate to contact on 0417 608 986.
H20 Survival Concert
Thank You to all the volunteers who worked so hard in the recent floods in the region and the Echuca Workers & Services Club for supporting this event by donating their venue and staff for the evening. This is not a fundraising event but strictly a fun night to recognise the work of the volunteers. This event will be free entry for anyone who wants to attend.
