We started receiving responses from consumers the same day which is encouraging. Thank you to all the stakeholders who participated in this co-operative advertising opportunity.

The campaign is directly aimed at our key existing markets and offers both great market reach and value.

The website has 380,000 visitors a month clicking on, looking for information to plan their holidays, and great offers that they can book. It’s a fantastic opportunity for any tourism operator, no matter what the size.

Workshops Delivered
EMT last week completed a long run of workshop deliveries with both E Marketing and Customer Service. A fantastic turn up from Members with a record number attending the Customer Service workshop. Thank you to all and we hope you derived some real benefit from the workshops.

Wedding Expo
The Echuca Moama Wedding Expo will be held on Sunday May 23 at Fonterra Centre, Echuca. Echuca Moama hosts an average of 5 weddings each week now which generates significant economic benefits to the region.
The Expo has now secured over 75 exhibitors making it one of the largest in regional Victoria.
A recent sponsorship agreement with Southern Cross has seen a series of television commercials roll out on Channel 10 over the past week during prime time programs including Masterchef, AFL – Before the Game and Neighbours. A significant radio campaign has also been airing through Star FM Bendigo and Shepparton with simultaneous advertisements on 3BO and 3SR. This will continue across both platforms next week in the lead up to the Wedding Expo.
Winter Blues
Echuca Moama Events has reached agreement with the committee of Winter Blues Festival to assist with commercial, marketing and administrative requirements in the lead up to the 2010 festival in July.
We are also excited to announce this year’s headline act being Jeff Lang who will be playing at the Echuca Workers Club on the Saturday night. Lang has received widespread accolades from his peers including John Butler through to mainstream media, including the Sydney Morning Herald.
Food Wine & Produce-Strategic Planning Meeting
Please note the next meeting is at 9:00am at EMT on Tuesday 18th May. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the circulated strategic planning proposal from Southern Cross University. This stage of the development of this regional sector is very important and your input is required. All food wine & produce stakeholders are welcome.
Irrigation Expo Conference
This major event is being held in Echuca on the 19th & 20th of May. Bringing some 2,000 participants to the region it will make a considerable and very positive impact on the region. Fire Services Event-March 2011
This large 7 day conference has now been confirmed at a meeting in Melbourne on Monday. This fabulous week long event will bring 300 visitors to our region to accommodate, take in the attractions, participate in bowling , golf and a day out on a paddle steamer. A great event for the accommodation and restaurant sector as well. The participants are coming from all States of Australia and New Zealand.
Winter Marketing Campaign
The final touches are being completed on this years winter marketing campaign. The emphasis this year will be on regional television and metro radio.
RSVP Events & Conference Expo
This event is being held in Melbourne on the 26th & 27th of May at the Crown Casino
EME (Echuca Moama Events) have taken a stand and will be meeting with trade delegates to inspire them to consider having their next event in our region. EME is also participating simultaneously in the ‘’Tastes Of Victoria’’ program which is designed to introduce people to our regions food, wine and produce talent.
Rochester Presentation
Last week EMT presented to over 130 community members in Rochester. The purpose was to highlight the importance of tourism and to update them on some of the major regional issues such as conference facility development and air access.
Official Visitors Guide
A few more tweaks and touches and the totally new look, new A4 sized coffee table style publication should be out in the streets by the end of May. Needless to say there will be an official launch so all Members will get a first hand peek at the latest design.

Southern Cross Creek Cottage is a newly renovated contemporary style 2 bedroom cottage located in Echuca East, with beautiful bushland views.
The cottage has an open style living area, large covered outdoor entertaining deck with views of the Southern Cross Creek complete with hammock.
The Murray River is a five minute walk away through the Banyula State Forest which offers many walking & biking tracks. The East Boat Ramp is only 1.5km down the road or a 15 min walk away. So check this little gem out on the website!

Bruce Moroney has joined the EMT Friends of Tourism with the intention of beginning and establishing a friendship through communication, events and network evenings where we provide a forum for information exchange, discussion and networking amongst industry peers.
Friend of Tourism – Artist - Betty Scott
Betty Scott is one of Australia's Leading Landscape Artists.
Her paintings have reached admirers as far as the White House & Bill Clinton in the United States of America.
Betty is a certified artist since 6th March 1986 with Registration No# 14878.
She is an Honorary Life Governor of the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne.
She is certified by the Patron Her Majesty, The Queen, FIDE, SCIENTIA, ET.AMORE.
Accommodation – Peace over the Bridge – Carol Aylward
If you’re looking for that “Home away from Home”, close to Echuca then look no further. ‘Peace over the Bridge’ is located in a lovely quiet street in the NSW township of Moama.
This Federation Style home is both roomy and comfortable, with a good sized back yard and undercover entertainment area complete with BBQ. The large Living Room and sunny Dining Room give you the perfect place to relax in peace and quiet.
